Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" has said that he will focus on strengthening Nepal-Japan relations.


President Dahal, who is on a five-day visit to Japan, said today in a conversation with Nepali journalists at Tokyo's Narita International Airport that he will discuss Nepal-Japan relations with the leaders of the political parties there.


"A high-level visit creates a positive atmosphere, such visits create an atmosphere to develop the relationship between the two countries, to expand the areas of economic and other cooperation", he said. Pointing out that Japan is a donor country in the development of Nepal, he recalled that he has been talking to the representative of the Japanese government about the development of Nepal.


He said that while he was in Japan, he would study what the Nepali government needs to do for the Nepali people there. "I study deeply about what is appropriate to do on behalf of Nepal's government and political parties for students who are in various businesses," he said.


Mentioning that the Nepali people want development and prosperity, he said that the focus of the current ruling coalition is focused on development and prosperity. "Now the Nepali people are looking for development and prosperity as a whole, their main desire is to have political stability, not to go towards political chaos, and to speed up development", President Dahal said, "Political leadership, parties and alliances should strive for development and stability."


For the development of Nepal, the experience, knowledge and resources of Nepalese scattered all over the world should be utilized, he said that he should be able to convey the message of the beginning of a new process of development in Nepal. "If a new process of stability and development can be started, all the scattered Nepalis will be able to use their experience, skills and resources in Nepal," President Dahal said. This creates an environment where Nepalis automatically return home with their knowledge, skills and wealth.'


Informing that after the passage of the Citizenship Act by the Parliament, arrangements have been made for non-resident Nepalis to exercise rights other than political rights.
