Why is Nepali suicide rate increasing in Japan?

Nepali suicide increasing in Japan?

Japan is an attractive destination for higher education, study, business and employment for Nepali citizens. With the world's third largest economic power, health, education, comfortable living, security guaranteed, Japan has become the country of choice for people around the world. Thus, the number of Nepalis living in Japan for higher education is also high.

With the pressure of students coming to Japan imagining a bright future increasing, the number of suicides is also increasing. In the last 15 days, three Nepalis have committed suicide in Japan.

It is natural for every Nepali to wonder why Nepali students who have come to Japan to pursue higher education at the cost of millions are choosing the path of suicide. Due to the imbalance between the imagined Japan and the real Japan in Nepal, Nepali students are choosing suicide in Japan. The mental stress and frustration of the students who come to Japan as a dream country has also become a major problem.

Nepali students are making wrong decisions like suicide as their ambition of earning money as soon as they arrive in Japan is not fulfilled. They also lack patience and endurance. An example of this is the suicide of a Nepali student in Nagoya, Japan, a few days ago, who could not find a job within 12 days of coming to Japan.

Before coming to Japan, Nepali students estimate that they earn so much. Most of the consultants in Nepal give false assurances in the greed of sending students and earning money. The consultancy does a lot of advertising to create the temptation to send students abroad. Suppose getting a visa changes your life. However, after coming to Japan, you will not be able to find a job, and if you get a job, you will have to abide by the restrictions and rules set by the visa, so you will not earn as much as you thought.

In Japan, there are many Facebook pages or websites that are open to help Nepalis at work. Sadly, Nepalis are more likely than foreigners to employ and exploit undocumented Nepalis. Incidents of some Nepalis extorting money from boys and sexually abusing girls have been repeatedly made public.

According to the World Health Organization, 650,000 people worldwide die each year. Japan has the highest number of suicides in the world. According to a 2015 survey by the Japanese government, 18.5 people per 100,000 live in Japan

If the consultancy gives advice in Nepal on how many things to pay attention to when going abroad as a student, what are the issues that can cause trouble tomorrow, and its merits and demerits in Nepal?

Students who come to Japan with a loan start to worry about how to cover their expenses rather than how to study better. Repeated calls to send money from the family have become a matter of headache for them. There are very few students who come to Japan and study purely. There are few parents who are worried about their children's education.

As soon as students study 12th class in Nepal, they start dreaming of going abroad. Japan is also the choice of many students. It is natural for anyone to find it difficult to live in a foreign land with their father and mother. Living happily in the family, they have to bear a big responsibility as soon as they come abroad. The mental stress of Nepali students increases due to the pressure of having to earn a living, paying college fees, expensive room rent and frequent remittances from the family. Moreover, the extent to which young age or young mind is unable to withstand all-round pressure is going wrong.

When you go abroad, it is natural to miss home and feel lonely. However, some students have become depressed because they cannot take these things for granted. In order to give energy and enthusiasm to their children living abroad, the family should monitor them even through phone contact. After sending their children abroad, most parents feel that they have fulfilled their responsibility. They don't pay much attention to difficult diaries. Similarly, most of the students from Nepal come to Japan at the urging of their friends. There are few who come here to study and understand the situation.

Not only on student visas but also on other visas, Nepalis living in Japan have reported suicide from time to time. Why do adult Nepalis commit suicide in Japan? Older Nepalis have been committing suicide due to old age, lack of income, lack of work, family stress and serious health problems. Just last week, a Nepali man who came to Japan on a cook visa committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of his house. Living in Tokyo's Khachushika with his family, he took his own life by jumping from a house provided by the Japanese government.

The number of suicides has increased due to lack of income even after coming to Japan thinking of earning millions. In Japan, the bulk of income is spent on rent, cars, and government social security programs. Besides, you have to work hard to save money for other jobs. Few Nepalis have the habit of working hard. Japanese citizens, on the other hand, make work a high priority. The number of those who work less in Nepal but have to work day and night after coming to Japan has increased. Many Nepalis here are in pain even when the language and culture abroad are not suitable for them and they are not allowed to return to Nepal.

Busy lifestyle and loneliness is also a reason for Nepalis to commit suicide. Some Nepalis commit suicide because they cannot cope with loneliness and have no place in society. Some Nepalis fall prey to drug addiction in the name of fun. People who regularly drink alcohol are also committing suicide. When you spend as much money on alcohol as you earn, there is a problem in running it daily.

According to the World Health Organization, 650,000 people worldwide die each year. Japan has the highest number of suicides in the world. According to a 2015 survey by the Japanese government, 18.5 people per 100,000 live in Japan. The government has reduced this percentage to about 13 per 100,000 by 2025.The number of suicides in Japan has been lower in recent years than in previous years. Even famous Japanese people in Japan have been committing suicide. In other words, Japan is a country that suffers from high profile suicides. Suicide is also a part of Japanese culture. In samurai culture, Japan has a traditional view of suicide as sacred and important.

Japan had a high suicide rate in the late 1990's due to the collapse of the economy and job losses. The Japanese government even announces an annual budget of tens of millions to reduce suicides. The Japanese government has been advising the public from time to time.
