 Paul Shah, accused of rape, will be released


Actor Paul Shah, who is serving a sentence in the case of child sexual abuse, will be released.


The bench of Justice Dilliraj Acharya and Sridhara Kumari Pudasaini acquitted the prosecution saying that it was not sufficient.


District Court Nawalparasi East sentenced Shah to 2 and a half years in prison on the charge of child sexual abuse and to pay compensation of 1 million to the victim.


Both the government attorney and Paul Shah filed an appeal in the High Court against the decision.


A case was filed against Paul Shah in District Court Nawalparasi East and District Court Tanahun on the charge of raping a minor. Former Nawalparasi was acquitted in the rape case and sentenced to 2 and a half years in prison and 1 million compensation for child sexual abuse.


District Court Tanahun acquitted him.
